Dr Ramesh Balasubramaniam

 Oral Medicine Specialist

You are invited to attend this complimentary webinar with one of the world’s leading experts on Bruxism, associate Professor Ramesh Balasubramaniam, an oral medicine specialist from Perth, WA.

Associate Professor Balasubramaniam is both a clinician and researcher, and has been published in many leading journals as well as written text book chapters on Bruxism.
Also presenting with Associate Professor Balasubramaniam will be Dr Harry Ball, co chairperson of the Dental Sleep Medicine Council of the Australasian Sleep Association and a clinical director of SleepWise Clinic.

This webinar will be very practical, based on the latest research, and will transform the way you manage Bruxism.

Bruxism is one of the most prevalent disorders seen in dental practice. Yet it is often neglected and not treated. Dentists have excellent splint and non splint treatments that can prevent the harmful and damaging effects.

If treating Bruxism is not an integral part of your practice you are missing out on a valuable source of income, while your patients are missing out on valuable treatment.

The following areas will be covered:
– The causes of Bruxism,
– Establishing when it’s a problem,
– The various treatments of Bruxism,
– Identifying the patients that would benefit from an occlusal splint,
– 3D printed Nylon – a revolution in splint material,
– Selecting occlusal splint designs for maximum comfort, effectiveness and compliance,
– Botox – Indications and use in managing Bruxism,
– The communication skills that educate, motivate, and enable patients to accept and comply with treatment,
– How to generate extra income with splint therapy.

Having been involved in presenting and teaching dental sleep medicine for almost 20 years, I have noticed there is a problem that keeps arising. After having completed a training program, many participants are excited at the possibility of bringing dental sleep into their practice but for various reasons do not  integrate this service.

Integration is what it’s all about, and is a focus of this current training, and we will be bringing it all together in this next webinar. We are very confident that by following the critical steps outlined in the webinar, you will make oral appliance therapy a valuable part of your practice and a significant source of income.

This webinar is one not to be missed and I recommend you invite one, or more, key staff members to participate with you.

Areas covered:
– A method of screening your patients,
– Patient education and other useful materials,
– Selecting and training a staff person for the role “sleep ambassador” – an extremely important position,
– Emails, newsletters, letters to the patient database,
– Methods of marketing,
– The clinical forms you need,
– Effectively dealing with the frequently asked questions from patients,
– Organising and understanding sleep studies,
– Selecting an optimal appliance and a lab.

This webinar will covered one of the most important areas for establishing your practice in dental sleep. While you will have many patients in your practice that will benefit from an oral appliance, the key to being able to provide this treatment is to have in place a simple and expeditious method of diagnosing your patients. While we have covered aspects of diagnosis in the previous webinars, in session one we provided all the details required to establish a system of diagnosing your patients.  The second area that is critical for success involves choosing the best available appliance for your patient.  With over 100 different designs available, in session two a rationale for appliance selection was presented that goes a long way in ensuring successful outcomes in terms of comfort and effectiveness.

Session 1: “The Pathway for Providing Sleep Apnoea Diagnosis and Telehealth Consultations for your Dental Patients”

They discussed the number of appliances you need in your practice, the pros and cons of each appliance, and how to match the design to the individual patient.

Session 2:  “Choosing the Best Appliance for your Patient”
